   Many people don't know that except Greece, Italy and France , Croatia is also very famous for very good 


   olive oil and Adriatic sea is very wealthy with fish.


   I am writing this topic because my family is famous in Croatia for our own olive oil. We have 4 olive  gardens with over 450 olive plants ( trees) who are situated on Krk , Croatian island on North coast of Croatia. This is our family tradition which is going from generations to generation. My mother always says that is her's hobby, and she is doing it because she loves it. 
Actually , it is a lot of work to do to make a good quality olive oil, and it is a process who lasts a year. You need to cut the grass, put a glue against bugs who are attacking olive seeds on tree, every week during the hot summer you need to water all the plants, and then during the middle of October every year it's time to pick the olives with your hands and put them in the baskets. At the end of each day during the olive harvest all full baskets need to be transport to the nearest olive mill to make an olive oil. After this process is over all the olive oil from the mill we store to the dark green glass bottles, and then this bottles needs to be stored for a couple of months for a better quality of an olive oil.
  
 Last couple of years my family is not making olive oil just for our purpose and use, we make it also for an National competition of olive oil and wine ,and just to let you know; for last 3 years we won 4 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals for our olive oil.

  Fish, Fishing, Fisherman... Croatia has a beautiful, crystal clear, wealth with fish Sea.

  Whoever comes to Croatia is going to try our fish specialties or even try to go fishing on the sea. Fishing is also very famous job, work, hobby, sport in Croatia. My town Crikvenica is well known as a fisherman town. My whole family  are fisherman's, in one way as a professionals like my grandfather or like an amateurs like my mother, brother and myself.

The one thing that I miss the most from Croatia is to have every day fresh fish on the table. 
 When you come to Crikvenica  first go to the main port ,ask for Stanko - my grandfather, he will give you the best fish that you ever tried, and then he will send you to my grandmother, she will make you the best fish specialty with a home made olive oil in the whole wide world.
